Description

Printed on Hahnemühle Hemp – Eco Paper. Hahnemühle Hemp uses one of the oldest and most diverse natural fibers in the world and is made of 60% hemp fiber. This giclee paper base impresses with its bright white natural tone, and because of the bright white color of the hemp fibers, no optical brighteners are required. The lightly textured surface gives the paper a pleasant, silky feel. Combined with a premium matte surface, this is a truly versatile paper for your photos and fine art reproductions. The Colors and details are brilliantly reproduced, and the depth of the black stands out. The contrasts are reproduced with stunning effects. This acid and lignin-free paper meets the most precise requirements for age resistance. Hemp was an essential part of paper production for centuries and due to its extremely robust fibers, it has often been used for long-lasting historical documents, such as the Gutenberg Bible and the US Declaration of Independence.

Shipping Note: Unmounted prints are shipped in a tube. Mounted print are shipped flat. After removing an unmounted print from the tube, let sit while it flattens, or put it under weights, like books, to hasten the process. Take care to protect it before you stack anything on it. If you take it to a framer, they will take care of flattening it for you.

Care

Properly cared for, a giclee print will last at least 100 years without significant fading. If your giclee print is framed and hung in a location outside of direct sunlight and protected from moisture, it can last even longer.

• Care for your giclee prints the same way you care for an original piece of art.
• Carefully remove it from the packing materials, keeping it in the protective sleeve until you are ready to hang it.
• If your print arrives rolled, take care when removing it from the tube. Place it on a flat, hard, clean surface to relax. Leave it in its packing sleeve and place clean flat books on top of it to help it relax. Do not use an iron, steam, or moisture to flatten it!
• Avoid denting or creasing the paper during handling.
• Do not clean your print with a damp cloth, water, or solvents. Wipe off dust with a microfiber cloth.
• Do not use tape, glues or spray mounts to adhere your print to another surface.
• Do not wipe dust off with your hands. Instead use a microfiber cloth or a photographer's lens brush.
• Handle with clean, dry hands. White cotton gloves are the standard of care with conservationists but a microfiber cloth like the one that comes with eye glasses is also good. The goal is to keep the oils on your fingers away from the print.
• Do not expose your print to direct sunlight or heat.
• Do not hang in a moist space, like a bathroom.
• When storing your print, keep in an acid-free box or print sleeve.
• Frame only with acid-free, archival-quality materials. Seal the back of the frame as well.
